The Catarratto is the leaner of the two Case Alte white wines. A perfect summer wine for evening enjoyment in warm temperatures. On the nose, a fresh, herbal blend of herbs, wet stone, and a slightly sweet note from aging on the lees. Everything is wonderfully cool and smooth. The palate is also soft and round, yet well-structured and with a good punch, thanks to the present and ripe acidity. The mineral core of the wine is similar to Sauvignon Blancs from the Loire or Southern Styria. Added to this is a wonderful saltiness, reminiscent of the vineyards' proximity to the sea. Here, you can experience the relaxed side of Sicily in your glass. A few kilometers outside the gates of noisy and restless Palermo, the grapes for this tranquil and perfectly balanced white wine grow in the sandy hills. It's a liquid mini-vacation in a glass.
