The Wine
A very spicy, smoky, slate-like nose. The stone dominates here; the fruit in the bouquet doesn't stand a chance against this dense spice. The aroma is fantastic, very intense and clear. The first impression on the palate is somewhat more generous than the nose; the wine displays some typical yellow fruit. Then that crazy slate-like minerality comes through again, pushing the fruit aside. Wonderfully salty, piquant, and crisp, with gripping tannins, a long, citrusy-salty finish; everything is super intense and challenging, yet with beautifully integrated acidity. A complete antithesis to the Old Vines Mosel, a gripping rock wine with simultaneous harmony.

The Winery
Markus Molitor
The Molitor name is a long-standing fixture on the Terraced Mosel. It stands for uncompromising quality and a fantastic variety in terms of vineyards and winemaking styles. The house's Rieslings are absolutely classic Mosel and offer delicate fruit—dry or sweet—in perfect balance with smoky slate. The house's Burgundies are equally impressive, consistently convincing at all levels of quality.
