The Wine

Beaurenard is one of the few producers still blending Châteauneuf in the truest sense of the word. All 13 grape varieties permitted in the appellation end up in the vats here, primarily Grenache. At Beaurenard, every single grape is hand-picked on 60 hectares. It is aged for 12 months in concrete and used oak. The wine has a very ethereal, delicate nose with red fruit and cool spice. Raspberry, mint, and eucalyptus dominate, a wonderfully fresh and vibrant aroma. The palate is soft and supple, with a velvety, silky flow. Then, of course, the tannins emerge, revealing structure, but this is so dignified and relaxed that, despite the wine's young age, there's no resistance to contend with. The wine 100% demonstrates the domaine's signature: its unbridled freshness and elegance, paired with the profound aromas of the southern Rhône. It's so dense and full, yet so delicate, elegant, and floating, and yet so incredibly complex, it's wild. The "simple" Châteauneuf from Beaurenard is already a real eye-catcher, and we love it! It can be opened now without hesitation (aeration helps a lot, as always) or left in the cellar. Simply delicious!

The Winery

Domaine de Beaurenard
Domaine de Beaurenard The Coulon family has been producing wine in the Rhône for seven generations. They know how to harness the power of the sun and bring out the characteristics of the local grape varieties at their finest. Their wines are bottled with a stunning freshness, which, despite all their power and extract, always ensures a balancing lightness. The vineyard is worked by hand and with horses according to biodynamic principles, and in the cellar, the wines are given the freedom they need to develop naturally.
