The Wine
The Châteauneuf Boisrenard Blanc is a blend of the appellation's six white grape varieties, with a predominance of Clairette and Roussanne. Aged for six months in small, used oak barrels. Accordingly, the wood doesn't predominate, but it adds wonderful structure. Yellow fruit, spicy, dense, and creamy on the nose. Ripe citrus fruits, especially lemon and tangerine, with hints of roasted hazelnut. On the palate, it's a buttery cream, a creamy lemon mousse with tangerine. So fine and elegant, yet so smooth and soft, with fine tannins contributing a slightly tart aroma, with a touch of tangerine and lemon zest on top. Beneath, a stony minerality peeks through, structuring the whole together with the tannins. This is a buttery, highly aromatic poem of rarely experienced elegance. Best left to air out for a day, then this young Châteauneuf already reveals a wonderfully balanced, smooth character. A true Rhône wine in white!
