The Wine
A cuvée from Faugères, grown on slate-rich soils and entirely influenced by its terroir. Mainly Grenache and Syrah, with a touch of Carignan and Mourvèdre. A spicy, fleshy nose of red and black fruit. The sweet extract rises directly to the nose, underpinned by the subtle garrigue spice so typical of the region, a hint of anise, and a hint of menthol freshness. It's wonderfully intensely fragrant and captivating, almost intoxicating. Juicy, fresh fruit on the palate, full and dense, yet so beautifully fresh and ethereally spicy. The perfect amount of tannin brings a tart and slightly bitter structure that contrasts with the fruity delight. A wonderful blend of structuring, austere spice and voluptuous fruit, it's full of energy and freshness, yet simultaneously generous, completely uncomplicated and yet not at all banal. An exciting cross-border wine with a wonderfully complex character, a massive drinkability, and great value for money, transporting the aromas of southern France directly into the glass!
