The Wine
Located below Corton-Charlemagne, grown on clay and limestone, with approximately 35-year-old vines. Fermented spontaneously in wood, with a very small proportion of new wood, unfiltered, bottled directly from the barrel. A very tranquil, soft nose. Dark fruit, sweet cherry, sour cherry, currant, a touch of graphite, a dark spice, earthiness, a hint of wood. This dark, sweet fruit extract is already announced on the nose, which then fully comes through in the mouth. A very dense, soft, silky texture on the palate, the sweet dark fruit spreading throughout. Fantastic extract, very soft and full, underpinned by the finest, ripe acidity, a hint of currant, but dominated by black cherry, yet totally fresh and lively, everything radiates, with very subtle tannins, yet totally refined; everything is just in balance. A truly refined, elegant interpretation of the site, no rough edges, totally harmonious and to the point in its silky fruitiness and elegance. A truly magnificent Pinot grisly, with subtle tones. Not a thunderstorm, but rather a piano, weightless, and delicate wine. It has a lot of potential, but with plenty of aeration, it's already an absolute delight.
