The Wine

This is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. A bright cherry red, followed by an incredibly expressive nose: red fruits like cherries and raspberries, along with dark fruits like plums and blackberries. A herbal, floral note hovers above it all – a sweet spice, beguiling and delicate. On the palate, it's fresh, juicy, and quite punchy: the red fruits break through, along with black tea, pepper, and dried herbs. Fine-grained tannins provide structure and nicely counterbalance the juiciness. The Beaurenard base comes onto the scene with a bang. A great wine for a more than fair price.

The Winery

Domaine de Beaurenard
Domaine de Beaurenard The Coulon family has been producing wine in the Rhône for seven generations. They know how to harness the power of the sun and bring out the characteristics of the local grape varieties at their finest. Their wines are bottled with a stunning freshness, which, despite all their power and extract, always ensures a balancing lightness. The vineyard is worked by hand and with horses according to biodynamic principles, and in the cellar, the wines are given the freedom they need to develop naturally.
