The Wine

Dark cherry red with purple reflections in the glass. This wine boasts a larger proportion of Carignan from old, ungrafted bush vines. The nose is a poem – black fruit, slightly sweet nuances carry a beguiling cloud of ethereal scents. There are the dried herbs of southern France, all slightly mentholated and cooling. Gradually, cedarwood and a hint of licorice emerge. The nose changes every minute – what a feast. On the palate, then, incredible traction, juice, and a fantastic structure. It's powerful, with punch, but perfectly defined and with a forbidden flow. The tannins are extremely fine-grained and ensure an elegant mouthfeel, while the quite noticeable, yet perfectly integrated acidity chases the wine across the tongue. Truly amazing what the Feigel family is doing in the Languedoc!

The Winery

Prés Lasses
Prés Lasses In the Faugères region at the foot of the Cévennes, Denis Feigl and his son Boris produce genuine terroir wines that beautifully showcase the characteristics of the Languedoc. Local grape varieties grow as bush vines under the hot southern French sun, and the vibrant vineyards are carefully and manually cultivated using biodynamic methods. The result is powerful and concentrated wines that, despite the southern heat, always have a cool touch and conjure up the pure joie de vivre of southern France in the glass.
