The Wine

Young vines from the single vineyard Les Saucours. Unfiltered, completely unsulfured, grown on limestone. A very refined nose: butter and lemon, lime, then the limestone bursts through, almost dusty on the nose. With plenty of air, the phenolics come through more, interspersed with wild aromas, herbal, slightly oxidative. Totally fresh on the palate, everything radiates and bursts, the acidity blows through the mouth, so much salt, so much lemon and lime. The laser-beam acidity permeates the endless finish, which drags on and on and on. Endless power and finesse. Not a milligram of fat. The mouth is lined with tannins. Endless piquancy, a very salty character. Salty lemon all over. This practically explodes, it has so much tension. Great wine with a lot of potential for the coming years!

The Winery

Chandon de Briailles
Chandon de Briailles Located in Savigny-les-Beaune, Chandon represents a purist Burgundy style on the Côte d'Or, featuring biodynamic viticulture and uncompromising "do-nothing" in the cellar. Formerly a Parisian wine merchant, Francois de Nicolay and his sister Claude cultivate some of the absolute top vineyards between Beaune and Corton. The wines produced here are bright, extremely juicy, and some are already drinkable even in their youth.
