The Wine
Molitor's Riesling Schiefersteil enters the glass with a very fragrant, slate-like, and subtly smoky nose. Added floral notes, white blossoms, and ripe yellow stone fruit. The nose is archetypal for Mosel Riesling: totally expressive and captivating, yet fresh and clear. This freshness continues on the palate, with wonderfully integrated, delicate acidity. A creamy texture, along with fine tannins that add a lovely bite. Ripe citrus fruit blends in, and a delicately spicy minerality permeates the zesty, slightly salty, ultra-fresh finish. A totally balanced, refreshing Riesling with a clear winemaker's signature and a wonderful expression of the terroir. It's truly enjoyable, uncomplicated, yet sophisticated and expressive.
