The Wine

The Schweicher Annaberg is a relatively warm site and one of the few in the Middle Mosel dominated by red slate. Generous, dense, and fruit-forward wines are typically produced here. Juicy, Moselle Riesling fruit rises from the glass in the 2022 Kabinett, underpinned by spicy slate notes. Plenty of ripe yellow fruit, peach and apricot, but also some cassis and a general red fruitiness that is so typical of the site. On the palate, an absolutely generous treat with a delight of juicy fruit, ripe candied citrus; everything here smells and tastes of late summer. A fine, subtle residual sweetness underlines the whole, and the wine has a totally smooth, velvety texture and an enormous flow. Simply a delicious Mosel Kabinett in a very classic style, it's fun and enjoyable, and a great value!
