The Wine

A truly classic Bardolino, just as you could wish for. The Dritto is a blend of Corvina, Rodninella, and Corvinone. 20% untasseled, fermented in steel, then aged on the fine lees in steel for 8 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Transparent red, slightly cloudy. Spicy, fruity, and fresh on the nose with a generous amount of pepper and a dark spice note, along with a clear, juicy sour cherry. It's beautifully aromatic and fragrant, yet always bright and clear. Fruity and fresh on the palate with juicy cherries, blackcurrants, and redcurrants; it has real flow, and with its light, fine tannins and wonderfully integrated acidity, it's very stimulating. The Dritto has extremely low drinking resistance, is totally drinkable and stimulating, making it a great Bardolino in the classic style. Best served chilled as an aperitif or with spicy, fruity Italian dishes; tomatoes, in particular, thrive on such a delicately fresh accompaniment. Super delicious!
