Bourgogne “Perrières” Rouge 2020 (0.75l)

The Pinot Noir from CMM's monopoly vineyard, Clos de la Perriere, is incredibly spicy and fragrant on the nose. An intense spice of cloves, pepper, and a hint of cinnamon dominates the palate, overshadowing the equally intense red fruit flavor with its cherry fruit. Here and there, it flashes through and blends into this wonderfully captivating, fragrant bouquet. The palate continues to be just as spicy and expressive. Present, yet fine, and tightly woven tannins characterize the texture. Juicy red fruit, aromas of spice, an intense saltiness, and fine, tart tannins define the character of the Perriere. This is a truly expressive, intense Burgundy on the spicy side. It's a real pleasure, especially for the money. Enjoyable now, best with some aeration, and with plenty of potential for years to come.
