The Wine

The Terre di Corzano from Corzano e Paterno is the winery's classic Chianti, blending 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo. It presents a brilliant ruby red in the glass. The aromas are also classic Chianti: the radiantly fresh cherry fruit of the Sangiovese, along with dark chocolate and hints of dried Mediterranean herbs. A savory note like air-dried ham is also present. On the palate, crystal-clear cherry fruit blends with this savory spice. The prominent acidity creates tension in the mouth. The wine is consistently fresh and juicy, with a decent draw and is a delight, especially when served slightly chilled, even in warmer temperatures. The hand-picked grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation, with maceration lasting up to a month. This is followed by aging in large wooden barrels, the “Botti Grandi”, as well as partly in used barriques and tonneaux.
