The Wine
The non-vintage La Terre Mère is a 100% Pinot Meunier from Troissy in the Vallée de la Marne. Grown on sand and clay loam, aged in oak and terracotta. 3.2 grams of dosage. A spicy Meunier nose, plenty of limestone, wet stone, vegetal notes, very savory throughout, with light hints of red fruit. Expansive mousse, herbal spiciness comes through, plenty of lovage, this spiciness paired with lemon, plenty of lemon zest. A yeasty fragrance adds to the finish, and a very intense, long, fresh, and dynamic finish. La Terre Mère has a very Meunier-typical spiciness, yet is wonderfully fresh and totally focused. A savory, uncompromising, and unconventional Champagne style that will delight!
