The Wine

Nebbiolo grapes from various vineyards on the estate, predominantly from certified Barolo and Barbaresco sites. Maceration for almost four weeks, followed by 14 months of ageing in used French barriques. A very fine, tranquil, and balanced nose. Red and black fruit, interwoven with subtle spice, some leather and tobacco, with ethereal herbs, woody notes, a touch of hazelnut, and fragrant floral notes. Archetypal Nebbiolo, no surprises here. The palate opens with sweet, dense fruit extract, black cherry with plum and blackberry. Then the tannins come in with force, the radiant, red-fruit acidity races across the palate, and an intense salinity lingers on the finish. This has grip and bite, but also already reveals the soft harmony hidden beneath the tannins, which will become increasingly clear with age. A textbook Langhe Nebbiolo.
