The Wine

Les Marnes Blanches V18 from Jeaunaux-Robin is a single-varietal Chardonnay – just 1,000 bottles of this outstanding sparkling wine exist. A bright straw yellow in the glass – it immediately looks like something substantial. The nose is full of white fruits and citrus, underscored by chalk dust and pleasantly spicy yeast notes. An interesting aroma that leaves you wanting more. The real fireworks begin on the palate. This is a champagne just to our taste: a crisp, extremely refreshing acidity, followed by spice, and wrapped in a wiry, muscular body. It's elegant, taut, and extremely tasty. With every sip, the desire for more grows! This fine wine comes from vineyards on the border between the Côte des Blancs and the Côte de Sézanne, in the Vallée du Petit Morin. It rests on the lees for at least 36 months; the vines are 40 years old. The soil is characterized by marl, chalk, and flint. Definitely not just any sparkling wine, but a champagne worth devoting yourself to – a truly cinematic experience is practically guaranteed.

The Winery

Jeaunaux-Robin
Jeaunaux-Robin In the very south of the Côte de Blancs, Cyril Jeaunaux makes champagne primarily from Pinot Meunier. His wines are bursting with energy (just like him) and bring a buoyant acidity to the glass, interplaying with intense and voluminous aromas. His style is honest, straightforward, and certainly controversial. We love him and have completely fallen under the spell of these sparkling wines' unabashedly easy-drinking nature.
