The Wine

The Prestige Fil de Brume Brut Nature from Jeaunaux-Robin is made from 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir, and the vines are around 60 years old. This champagne, based on the 2012 and 2013 vintages , has a wonderful, fragrant nose: everything vibrates, smelling of wet stone, limestone, and endless citrus, along with subtle notes of brioche. The small amount of Pinot Noir also contributes a fine spiciness and delicate red fruit notes. In the mouth, a delicate, present perlage; everything is very clear and very fresh, with citrus and limestone still aromatic. Slightly astringent on the palate, crisp and dry. Everything is very fresh and dynamic. The wine is powerful, yet completely focused, and doesn't stray into a broad style with too much brioche, yeast, and density. Very stimulating and a great introduction to the world of champagne full of excitement and energy from Jeaunaux-Robin. We love this focused, clear, straightforward champagne style, which pairs wonderfully with an aperitif and oysters. Or simply on its own anytime.

The Winery

Jeaunaux-Robin
Jeaunaux-Robin In the very south of the Côte de Blancs, Cyril Jeaunaux makes champagne primarily from Pinot Meunier. His wines are bursting with energy (just like him) and bring a buoyant acidity to the glass, interplaying with intense and voluminous aromas. His style is honest, straightforward, and certainly controversial. We love him and have completely fallen under the spell of these sparkling wines' unabashedly easy-drinking nature.
