The Wine

A very fine, cool, smoky-stony nose. It's almost dusty, quite purist, with delicate fruit and citrus, but the stone predominates. Then, in the mouth, there's a real sense of piquancy and salt, plenty of power, yet totally defined. The finest tannins coat the mouth, along with endless citrus, and a very precise acidity. A very nice powerhouse with a lacy acidity and plenty of grip, an archetypal top-class Rheingau Riesling. A few years of bottle aging are in order here. Or a lot of air in the carafe, then the Jungfer already reveals a magnificent complexity and multifacetedness. The aroma becomes somewhat nutty, but the freshness remains, and you have an intoxicatingly refreshing, salty-stony power wine in the glass!
