The Wine
The Sankt Antony winery owns a very special parcel in Hipping: called Käferberg, it faces entirely north, in contrast to the rest of the vineyard and the entire slope. This gives the house's Hipping a special character that is also so typical of a Roter Hang. A very fresh, cool, and bright nose. Yellow fruit, but totally focused, fine and fresh, simple, but also somewhat closed in its youth. Then, in the mouth, very fine, relaxed, and self-contained. Then there's plenty of peach, a salty grip, and a nice acidity. Although it exudes a decent harmony, there's still plenty of potential for improvement. This is Riesling GG in its infancy. When the gates finally open, it will be a fragrant, sophisticated Riesling feast!
