The Wine
Initially, a cool, restrained nose. Very fresh, delicate yellow stone fruit, plenty of citrus and lemon zest, quite fragrant and ethereal. With aeration, it becomes more pronounced, very dynamic and precise. Beautifully structured on the palate, delicate white peach again, plus a powerful burst of citrus, lovely punch and pull, length, salt, and fine, precise acidity without being overpowering. Lovely tannins, a tart character in the mouth, almost a bit astringent. This has power and pull, yet is beautifully defined. This is especially enjoyable if you appreciate challenging, crisp Riesling. With a few years of aging, even more harmony, complexity, and elegance will emerge. Great Riesling rewards patience!
