The Wine

100% Pinot Noir from 2015, like everything at Brison, grown on limestone marl. Harvested using the saignee method, fermented and aged in barriques. Matured on the lees after bottling in June 2016 until disgorgement in March 2023. Brison's rosé also receives 0 grams of dosage. Intense strawberry red in the glass. Dense, juicy Pinot fruit on the nose. The palate is also full of juicy, dark red fruit, with a fine creaminess and a concise yet integrated acidity. Added to this is the finest tannin structure with delicate bitter notes. Bone dry and direct, yet so beautifully structured all around; this is a wonderfully balanced poem. The finish then combines a lovely saltiness with freshness and red fruitiness. A very intense and fruity rosé champagne, never kitschy, but rather very concise and dynamic. It's a real joy, whether on its own or as an accompaniment to desserts or hearty, savory, fruity dishes.
