The Wine

The Sono Montenidoli Toscana Rosso IGT is a Sangiovese matured to perfection. From old vines, fermented in concrete, aged on the fine lees for 24 months in mostly used barriques, followed by at least three years of bottle ageing. Ethereal and spicy on the nose, with plenty of sweet black cherries and nutty notes, everything is incredibly complex, interwoven, and multifaceted; floating light and delicate, yet profound and dense. On the palate, it's soft and supple, with buttery tannins lining the mouth. The ripe black cherries come through fully. Just as on the nose, the wine is elegant, floating, and yet extremely intense. Delicate spice, dense fruit, yet never overpowering—simply a picture-perfect Sangiovese that has now reached wonderful drinking maturity.
