The Wine
"TO" means lake in Hungarian, and the name says it all: the wine reflects the terroir of Lake Neusiedl, around which the vines of this cuvée grow. It possesses a salty, mineral character and a great diversity of its three grape varieties typical of the region. On the nose, abundant yellow, ripe stone fruit paired with a subtle spiciness; the Chardonnay clearly shines through here. The palate then displays the full spectrum: again, plenty of ripe yellow fruit, herbal spiciness, a dense, creamy texture, all captured by a beautiful freshness, and underpinned by a clear, intense saltiness. The finish is vibrant; the TO has plenty of tension and power. The aging in large and small oak barrels structures the wine and underscores its creamy, spicy character. This is a lot of wine, multifaceted and complex, already a lot of fun, but also has very good potential.
