The Wine
From a tiny, 0.3-hectare plot of approximately 17-year-old vines. 1,325 bottles were produced. Late harvest by hand, fermentation and aging (8 months) took place in 10-year-old acacia wood barrels. A very fine, complex, interwoven, and playful nose. Yellow fruit, a touch of peach, then very fresh pineapple, a mass of ripe, yellow, and orange citrus fruit, with juicy orange setting the tone. Above this are slightly smoky notes and a fine minerality with a spicy aftertaste. Very inviting and open, yet totally sublime; everything floats with clarity and freshness. The palate continues this clarity and freshness: a mouthful of ripe citrus fruit with some exotic fruit surrounding it, along with an invigorating saltiness and an extremely fine, soft tannin structure. Its aromas are so crystal-clear and clean, with a very fine, smooth, and soft texture on the palate, while its acidity is present yet wonderfully integrated. The texture is truly a dream. The tannins are so polished and smooth; it has a wonderful flow, gliding so smoothly across the palate and yet is so present, energetic, and invigorating with an intense, long, and salty finish. A completely balanced and balanced wine that miraculously combines softness and elegance with freshness and aromatic intensity. Highly recommended!
