The Wine

Grown on limestone, primarily from various plots in La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, and Monforte. After hand-harvesting, the wine undergoes approximately two weeks of maceration, followed by 12 months of ageing in used oak, some barriques, and steel. A captivatingly juicy and fresh nose. Red and black fruit, plenty of dark cherry, but also sour cherry, along with ethereal, spicy notes of mint and eucalyptus. Violet brings florality, underpinned by earthy, dark tones. A very juicy entry, crisp, fresh sour cherry throughout the mouth, red and black berries, and black cherry, with fine tannins underneath. Salty notes blend into the spicy-fruity finish. Drinking instructions: decant thoroughly, for a few hours, or even better, for a day, then (lightly) chilled with hearty Italian cuisine, or simply on its own anytime. A juicy, extremely drinkable treat!
