The Wine

The Weisse Burgunder Reserve from the Seehof winery is a real treat. From approximately 25-year-old vines in the Westhofen Morstein vineyard, aged in small oak barrels. A dense, spicy nose, unmistakably Burgundy, with tension and freshness. This continues on the palate, with fullness and generosity interplaying with grip and a taut finish. Nutty notes, beautifully integrated wood, and a creamy mouthfeel are wonderfully balanced by Seehof's signature radiant and vibrant freshness. It's not austere, but it's not rich either; it's right in the middle.

A little aeration brings additional complexity and balance to the wine, and a few years of aging won't hurt, but it's already a real joy!
