The Wine

The vines for the Weißburgunder Reserve grow in the Westhofener Morstein vineyard, one of the best and most renowned sites in Rheinhessen. Clay marl and limestone produce deep, darkly spicy wines with radiant minerality and expression. The vines are approximately 25 years old, and aging takes place in small, used oak barrels.

In 2023, the Reserve shows yellow stone fruit, some green apple and unripe pineapple, with subtle smoke and slightly nutty notes underlying the densely woven, spicy nose.

In the mouth there is again a lot of yellow fruit, also some green citrus, a hint of lime, plus a beautifully creamy texture, very soft and smooth with a smooth flow, good grip on the palate and an intense salty note that lingers on the finish.

Overall, a very clear aroma profile with bright fruit expression underscored by dark spicy notes. The wine's origin, Westhofener Morstein, leaves its mark.

A wonderfully intense Pinot Blanc that also impresses with its precise, characteristic structure.

To be drunk immediately, ideally from large glasses - but can of course also be put in the cellar.
