The Wine
An elegantly fragrant nose, one immediately thinks of a blend of Scheurebe or Sauvignon Blanc and Burgundy – there's some exotic fruit, plenty of ripe citrus, and also yellow stone fruit, with ripe pear leading the way. The whole is underpinned by a delicate spice. The overall picture is very fragrant and fresh, and the palate continues to be just as fresh and stimulating. Again, plenty of aromatic, ripe citrus, with a chalky-mineral component at play. The whole thing appears beautifully rounded, with a very slightly creamy character and silky texture – the typical varietal characteristics clearly shine through here. Overall, it's a wonderful success: the mineral, stimulating, and precise Seehof style suits the Auxerrois, which certainly brings fullness and weight, extremely well; the combination is both drinkable and dynamic. A beautifully balanced and complex exotic wine from the Wonnegau region, we like it very much!
