About Le Boncie

Sunset in the Tuscan vineyard

In the heart of Chianti, more precisely in Castelnuovo Berardenga, lies a little gem called Le Boncie. Owner and winemaker Giovanna Morganti runs the winery with passion and experience. Her father, a renowned oenologist, introduced her to the world of wine at an early age, laying the foundation for her later career. After completing her oenology studies, she applied her experience and knowledge to a research project investigating grape varieties and varietals for their suitability for viticulture.

In her own vineyard, Giovanna focuses on the region's classic grape varieties, such as Sangiovese, Mammolo, Colorino, and Foglia Tonda. The soil consists of clay and limestone with a high stone content, which gives the wines a distinctive minerality. The vineyard, which covers just 3 hectares, produces approximately 18,500 bottles annually and is certified organic.

Sangiovese vines with grapes

Le Boncie's wines enjoy an excellent reputation among connoisseurs and gourmets worldwide, and are even described by some as the essence of Tuscany . The deliberately small portfolio puts each individual wine in the spotlight. The wines are the result of passion, experience, and a deep connection to nature. While the summer warmth and energy of the Tuscan sun is reflected in the power of the wines, there is also a cooling, extremely precise, and dancing component that ensures a consistently juicy drink. It is this wonderful interplay of sheer power and finesse that always leads to quickly emptied glasses. The Sangiovese Le Trame Toscana IGT seduces the nose with a wonderful blend of black and red fruits and elegant spice reminiscent of pine honey. It is incredibly enjoyable and is ideally suited to delicious Tuscan game dishes with hare or wild boar.
