The Wine

The red Châteauneuf Boisrenard is once again a cuvée made from all 13 grape varieties permitted in Châteauneuf. From selected parcels, from old vines, aged for 12 months in used oak. A very deep, dark nose, a sea of black fruit, framed in herbal spice, underpinned by stony minerality, buoyed by ethereal freshness. Powerful, deep, and complex. Then, in the mouth, it's over. A roller of black fruit and extract sweetness rolls across the palate, unparalleled. The fruit practically explodes; it's insane. So much sweet extract, such density and richness. Incredibly complex and full. It doesn't float quite as much as the smaller Beaurenards; it sits quite deep in the saddle, it certainly has weight. Yet it's still clear, fresh, and juicy, and with its ethereal freshness, the opposite of sluggish; thankfully, they don't sell jam here. This is a powerful, powerful wine, full of depth. It can mature for decades, but can also be poured directly into the glass; it's an experience today and tomorrow. A magnificent firework of aromas, embedded in a dense, juicy structure, an elixir!
