About Domaine de l'Enclos

The two brothers Romain and Damien have only been managing the Domaine de L'Enclos in Chablis since 2016, yet they have made a considerable name for themselves in that time. Coming from a winemaking family, winemaking was practically in their blood, and the two had been experimenting with their parents' business since 2005. Following their father's well-earned retirement, the two brothers overhauled the winery for two years and finally released their first vintage in 2018.
The wines come mostly from vines planted by their father, and some by their grandfather, which are up to 60 years old. In the vineyard, natural methods are used, avoiding synthetic pesticides and other additives. During the harvest, only manual labor is used, with a well-coordinated team of 12 carrying out the meticulous selection of the grapes. The cellar also uses natural methods: spontaneous fermentation, long aging on the fine lees, and no sulfurization of the final product. Thus, Romain and Damien create their very own interpretation of Chablis with a clear focus on evoking the terroir. Their wines are quite sophisticated and often benefit from aging or at least good aeration. The Chablis AOC is a beautiful and not overly complex introduction to Chablis, while the Chablis Grand Cru "Blanchot" is more than just a wine. The wines share a sparkling acidity, extreme coolness, and a finely elegant spiciness. If you like it, you'll love it!
