About Foradori

Elisabetta Foradori with purple hands from the mash

Elisabetta Foradori has shaped the reputation of the Teroldego grape variety like no other. With utmost dedication and a passion for maximum quality, she restructured her parents' business after taking over in the mid-1980s. This included reducing yields, steadily eliminating the dominant pergola cultivation, and ultimately converting to organic and, today, biodynamic viticulture. Since 2013, her son Emilio Foradori has taken over the management of the winery and is steadily continuing its development. In concrete terms, this means more aging in amphorae, less in barriques, and increased whole-bunch pressing to maximize the clarity of the red fruit.

In the vineyards, which boast beautiful views of the Dolomites, work is carried out exclusively by hand. Pruning and meticulous selection lead to a drastic reduction in yields. Daughter Myrta has also been pushing the move away from monoculture for several years, introducing fruit and vegetable cultivation for a holistic agricultural approach. Fermentation in the cellar is carried out using natural ambient yeasts, and intervention in the winemaking process is minimal. The resulting wines are energetic and terroir-focused, clearly demonstrating their alpine character through a cool-climate style, yet are so profound and profound.

The base Teroldego is a fresh, fruity red wine with an almost unbeatable price-performance ratio. Ethereal notes harmonize perfectly with the juicy cherry fruit. The Morei vineyard is home to old vines that produce only tiny quantities. Here, spicy notes of dill and tobacco emerge on the nose, accompanied by juniper berries and deep, black fruit. The Sgarzon vineyard boasts a significantly cooler microclimate, and the ethereal, balsamic notes are even more intense: eucalyptus, mint, and mountain pine on the nose, with wonderfully polished tannins on the palate. The Granato takes center stage with its dark, sweet cherry aroma, exquisite spice, and a velvety, almost buttery palate. Foradori is synonymous with the Trentino terroir and with Teroldego at the absolute highest level.
