About Les Bruyères

Founded in 1955 by Georges Reynaud, the Les Bruyères winery has been managed by his grandson David Reynaud since 2000. With him, the transition to uncompromising quality standards and biodynamic methods in viticulture began.
On a good 27 hectares of vineyards in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, David cultivates primarily Syrah, which accounts for almost 90% of his vineyard area. Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, Mondeuse, and Merlot are also planted.
The vines are planted on clay-limestone terraces and are cultivated exclusively by hand. In the cellar, aging takes place in concrete eggs and terracotta, alongside large wooden barrels; the white wines at Les Bruyères are aged exclusively in concrete.
David's wines are characterized by tremendous aromatic intensity and a clear, varietal character. His Viognier "Les Monestiers" has a floral and yellow-fruity aroma, but with exposure to air, it reveals the great mineral depth that the Viognier has extracted from the terroir. David's Syrah equally clearly demonstrates the character of the grape variety and terroir: the wines are consistently fleshy in structure with an animalistic, intensely spicy character. The wines burst with aroma and complexity, continually evolving into new nuances over the days in the opened bottle; they are truly vibrant and never static. Given this quality, the prices can safely be described as an understatement. Great, biodynamic Northern Rhône wine at very reasonable prices. For Syrah and Northern Rhône fans, there's hardly a dry eye to be found here. For everyone else, be convinced and delighted!
